Veterinary Care

All kittens are examined by a licensed veterinarian before leaving our care. Each kitten will be:

  • Vet-checked and confirmed healthy prior to adoption

  • Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations

  • Dewormed according to veterinary protocol

  • Free from external parasites at the time of adoption

A copy of the veterinary health record will be provided with your kitten.

Congenital & Genetic Health Guarantee

Niamhragdoll provides a written health guarantee covering serious congenital or hereditary conditions that significantly affect quality of life. Our breeding cats are carefully selected and health screened to reduce the risk of genetic issues common to the breed.

If a licensed veterinarian diagnoses your kitten with a life-altering congenital or genetic condition within the guarantee period, we ask that:

  • Written documentation from a licensed veterinarian is provided

  • We are notified promptly after diagnosis

In such cases, we will work with you in good faith to offer a suitable resolution, which may include a replacement kitten when available.

Buyer Responsibilities

To keep this health guarantee valid, the adopter agrees to:

  • Have the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within 7 days of arrival

  • Provide proper nutrition, care, and a safe indoor environment

  • Maintain regular veterinary checkups and vaccinations

  • Avoid exposure to known hazards or contagious animals

Failure to complete the initial veterinary examination within the specified timeframe may void the guarantee.

What Is Not Covered

This health guarantee does not cover:

  • Illnesses caused by stress, environment changes, or improper care

  • Minor or treatable conditions such as colds or parasites after adoption

  • Injuries or accidents after leaving our care

  • Conditions resulting from neglect, abuse, or failure to seek timely veterinary care

Every kitten is examined by a licensed  veterinarian and is up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and preventive care before going home.

This Health Guarantee outlines what you can expect from us—and what we kindly require from you—to protect the health and well-being of your new kitten.

1. General Health at Time of Sale

We guarantee that your kitten is in good health, free from known infectious diseases, and has passed a veterinary health examination within 7 days prior to pickup or delivery.

You will receive:

  • A signed veterinary health record

  • Vaccination and deworming schedule

  • Microchip number and registration

  • Proof of any additional treatments provided

2.  Veterinary Check (Buyer Responsibility)

To keep this guarantee valid, the buyer must have the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian  within 7 days of receiving the kitten.

If the veterinarian discovers a life-threatening illness or congenital condition that was present before purchase, the buyer must notify us in writing within 24 hours and include:

  • A full written diagnosis

  • Veterinary findings and test results

We reserve the right to seek a second veterinary opinion at our expense.

3. One-Year Genetic Health Guarantee

We provide a 1-year guarantee against severe hereditary or congenital disorders that significantly affect the kitten’s quality of life, including:

  • Heart defects (excluding minor murmurs)

  • Liver shunts

  • Severe hip or elbow dysplasia

  • Congenital neurological disorders

  • Life-threatening genetic abnormalities

If a covered condition is diagnosed within the first year:

  • We will offer a replacement kitten of equal value from the next available litter.

  • The buyer may keep the original kitten.

  • Monetary refunds are issued 100%.

4. Exclusions (Not Covered)

This guarantee does not cover:

  • Parasites (common and easily treatable)

  • Minor, non-life-threatening conditions (e.g., hernias, under/overbite, minor murmurs)

  • Illnesses caused by neglect, accidents, improper diet, or lack of veterinary care

  • Heatstroke, dehydration, or injuries

  • Allergies or environmental sensitivities

  • Costs associated with diagnostics, treatment, or emergency care

We cannot guarantee adult size, weight, temperament, coat color, ear/tail set, or conformation.

5. Responsible Ownership Requirements

To ensure the health guarantee remains valid, the buyer agrees to:

  • Provide routine veterinary care

  • Keep the kitten vaccinated according to guidelines

  • Maintain a healthy diet and safe environment

  • Avoid strenuous exercise during growth (important for joints)

  • Prevent exposure to contagious environments until fully vaccinated

Failure to follow these guidelines voids this guarantee.

6. Return and Replacement Policy

If a serious hereditary condition covered under this guarantee is confirmed:

  • A replacement kitten will be offered once documentation is received.

  • The buyer is not required to return the original kitten unless recommended by a veterinarian for humane reasons.

  • Shipping or travel costs are the responsibility of the buyer.

7.  Legal Compliance

This guarantee complies with:

  • Provincial consumer protection laws

  • kennel and breeding standards

  • Veterinary regulations and welfare requirements
